Yes, this is my ugly mug...lol
Well now, what can I actually tell everyone about me that will actually make you all interested? Honestly, I really cannot think of anything.
Here is the basic stuff:
I am 32 years old (soon to be 33 at the end of June). Originally I am from Muskegon, Michigan. Where is that, you ask? Well, hold up your hand (don’t really matter which one), but make sure your thumb is to the right. On the side of your hand, opposite your thumb, about half-way from your wrist to the top of your pinkie finger is where Muskegon is located (only someone from Michigan will use their hand to show yo where they are from…lol).
I recently moved to beautiful Asheville, North Carolina. Never realized how beautiful the mountains were until I moved here. Not exactly the Southern city, or state, that I have been wanting to move to (my goal was to move to the Atlanta, GA area if I ever moved to the South) but, beggars can’t be choosers. I was in need of a job and was offered one here. I had to take it, what else could I do considering the horrible economy back in Michigan?
So, what kind of work do I do that brought me down here, you ask? Well, I am a Quality Improvement Associate, but my official title at the company I work for is Quality Technician. Honestly, it makes me laugh when companies looks for a “Quality Technician” when they are really looking for a Quality Inspector. THESE ARE TWO DIFFERENT POSITIONS CONSISTING OF TWO DIFFERENT SETS OF QUALIFICATIONS, PEOPLE!!! Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy doing the work that I do, and am very grateful to be working, but I did not bust my ass to get my Associate Degree in Quality Improvement just to be a Quality Inspector. I am losing the knowledge I gained through school cause I am not able to utilize the tools that I had learned. But, like I said, I can’t complain. It pays the bills and keeps a roof over my family’s head.
Speaking of my family, I have not told you about them yet. Well, I have been married to my beautiful wife, Margaret, since October of 1996. Trust me, it has not been an easy life of marriage, but over the past few years, it has been great. I can honestly say that she is the love of my life. Along with my wife, I have three beautiful, smart, and witty daughters:
- Samantha is my oldest, she is currently 13 years old and getting ready to go into high school. She is the shy one of the three, but watch out, she has got the temper of a mad hornet. Piss her off and her looks could probably kill you!…lol.
- Gabriela is my middle daughter. She is currently 12 going on 25
. She is the smart-ass of the bunch. She has some quick, and funny, comebacks to just about anything. But, if she doesn’t like you, she has some really good put-downs and insults too. - And last, but not least, is my youngest daughter Kassandra, she is currently 11. She is a Daddy’s girl, even though she does not want to admit it. She is boy crazy (yes, I have my guns ready, for those of you that are wondering…lol), and she is also a real fighter. She is definitely the one that I will have to watch as she gets older to make sure she does not get in too much trouble.

Honi and Naddie, aren't they so cute?
In addition, I also have two four-legged daughters (for those of you that might be a little slow, they are dogs). One is actually my wife’s dog. She is a Chihuahua named Honi. Honi is almost five years old now. My wife told me that when we bought a house that she was going to get a dog. Well, her sister’s Chihuahua had puppies, so one day while I was at work, my wife went and got her dog. At first I wasn’t too happy, but then I fell in love with the little shit
. The other one is my dog. She is a two-year-old Boxer/Lab mix that we named Naddie Lyte (yes folks, I named her after the beer, Natural Lite). My wife suggested Bud Lite at first (since that is the beer we drink), but I told her that is a name for a male dog, so Naddie Lyte it was. We actually saved her from our neighbor lady that wound up neglecting the mother and another dog (yes folks, we did the right thing and called the Humane Society).
So, you are probably wondering what I like to do for fun, eh? Well, my life is pretty busy right now with work and school. But, when I do actually have free time, I enjoy:
- Reading - I read almost everything. I get engrossed in John Grisham and Dean Koontz novels. I enjoy reading the newspaper on the front porch with my morning coffee (yes, I know that I am old). I read a couple different quality magazines: Quality Digest and Quality Progress.
- Sports – I do not play anymore, but I am a huge football, baseball, and hockey fan. For baseball, I grew up a Detroit Tigers and Atlanta Braves fan. Those are the two teams that I will support the most, but the Tigers have my heart. In football, I am a DIE-HARD Detroit Lions fan (HEY! STOP LAUGHING AT ME!…lol). Go ahead, take you best shot on that one, I have heard them all and am still a fan!
And for hockey (now this might shock your system a little bit, so brace yourself), I am a Colorado Avalanch fan. No, I am not a Red Wings (Deadwings is what I actually call them…lol) fan. Never have been, and probably never will be. - Recreation – I said that I no longer play sports, but I do actually like to bowl. This past bowling season was the first time in a while that I did not bowl, but that was because I moved, and my family was still up in Michigan
. But, honestly, I am not that bad, I carry a 186 average. I also enjoy golfing, or should I say, hitting the ball, looking for it for five minuets, getting another ball to replace the one I lost, hitting that one, taking five steps and hitting it again, and picking up my ball after the 10th stroke just to move onto the next hole to do it all over again (lol…not actually that bad, just seems like it sometimes).
Well, my friends, that is me in a nut-shell. There might still be some things about me that you don’t know, but I am pretty sure that those questions will be answered over time throughout the postings that I make to my blog. However, If you happnen to want to know more about me sooner, feel free to contact me and I will do my best to answer your questions.
Thank you for reading up on me and getting to know me a little better,
Jason
